Jak ten człowiek znany na całym świecie osiągnął taki sukces. Od początku swojej kariery stawiał na elegancje i klasykę oraz sięgał po te najdroższe materiały. Dom mody Valentino został założony w Rzymie w 1959 roku przez Włocha Valentino Garavani. Na starcie swojej kariery wspierał go ojciec, jednak gdy interesy nie rozwijały się zbyt dobrze ojciec wycofała się ze spółki przez co firma chyliła się ku upadkowi. Wówczas pojawił się Giancarlo Giammetti, który wyprowadził firmę z złej sytuacji finansowej, a dzięki swoim umiejętnościom inwestycyjnym doprowadził do jej rozwoju.
